International Use Cases, Automation and What’s Next for Nucleus: BMT Client Summit 2026

BMT Team Coordinator, James Cordell, reflects on this year’s Client Summit, which brought together organisations from across the awards and bursaries sector, including international clients, to share best practice, discuss emerging challenges and help shape the future of awards management.

The BMT Client Summit is an annual get together BMT team to bring together our clients to network, share insights and feed into the future of BMT’s suite of products. This year, we’re delighted to say it was our largest get together, including returning representatives from the British Film Institute, British Arrows, Focal International, Ivors Academy, The Royal Television Society, BAFTA Albert and BAFTA, alongside first-time attendees from the European Film Academy, Paris Peace Forum and the Public Relations and Communications Association.

Alongside our clients, we were also pleased to welcome representatives from the London Film Festival and the The Film and TV Charity.

In tradition, the day kicked off with Emma Perry, Director of BMT, presenting the BMT roadmap for 2026/27, including new features and projects over the horizon, as well as a look back at releases the year prior including:

Every year, we’re delighted for our clients to showcase how they’ve adopted Nucleus into their workflows, and this year didn’t disappoint, with presentations from the European Film Academy and Paris Peace Forum, which were both highlights of the day.

Complementing the presentations, the day also featured a series of breakout workshops designed to encourage networking and the exchange of ideas. The first session took the form of an information security quiz, celebrating BMT’s recent achievement of ISO 27001 certification for its Information Security Management System (ISMS).

Building on BMT’s current and future activities, the final of the presentations of the day, included a showcase of BMT’s latest and upcoming features from Elisabetta Mezzaro, Client Support Lead & Junior Product Manager, Bella Grimwade, Client Support Executive and Gianluca Morelli, Client Support Executive on the following:

  • Rounds – Launched to provide more control of your viewing and judging configuration to facilitate rounds.
  • Automations – Released to streamline recurring administrative tasks to supporting efficient day-to-day management.
  • Integrations Lite – Using new technology, we’ve enabled integrations with minimal development on Nucleus.

Before the day concluded, attendees helped shape the future direction of Nucleus by ranking proposed features according to their organisation’s priorities. The exercise reflected BMT’s commitment to client-led innovation and was followed by a final breakout workshop featuring five themed discussion tables:

  • Data Visualisation & Reporting
  • Additional use cases for Nucleus
  • Events & Ticketing
  • Voting
  • Rounds

The feedback and insights shared throughout the day will play an important role in shaping future Nucleus developments, ensuring the platform continues to meet the needs of organisations running awards, bursaries and grant programmes. More broadly, the Client Summit demonstrated the value of bringing together a community of sector leaders to share experiences, discuss challenges and help drive innovation across the industry.

We are hugely grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to the discussions throughout the day. The willingness of our clients to share their experiences, ideas and expertise is what makes the Client Summit such a valuable event, and we look forward to continuing these conversations in the months ahead.
