Bella Grimwade looks at the accessibility features that Events has to offer.
At BAFTA Media Technology, we’re committed to ensuring that everyone can participate in events with confidence. Our Events platform has been designed with accessibility at its core, helping organisers to collect and respond to access requirements with ease.
A key feature of the system is the ability to request accessibility information as part of the booking process. Event organisers can add custom questions to registration forms, enabling guests to share any specific access needs — whether that’s step-free access, hearing assistance, captioning, or other support. This allows organisers to make informed arrangements ahead of time, rather than responding reactively.
Setting this up is straightforward. Our help guide walks users through how to add and manage these questions. The system also supports tagging bookings with specific requirements, making it easy for teams to track and follow up where needed.
For hybrid and online events, the system supports collection of digital access preferences too — including requests for BSL interpretation or live captions. These options help ensure events remain inclusive, no matter the format.
By building these tools into the core of the Events platform, we aim to make inclusive event planning the norm, not the exception.
